Joshua Laird-Wilson is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with previous RN clinical work experience in cardiology and medical-surgical care units. He has been working as an advanced practice Nurse Practitioner (NP) since 2011. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree with Honors from Saint Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, Canada, and later went on to earn his RN and MSN nursing degrees from the University of Illinois in Chicago. During his clinical education, Josh worked in a variety of clinical settings including neurology, urology, and primary care, and in the emergency room.
Although Josh started out working in acute care in the hospital, his love of medicine is providing care to the family in both Urgent Care and primary care settings. As a lifelong athlete and experienced personal trainer, he sees a strong link between healthy living and exercise for successful management of chronic diseases such as diabetes and heart disease. With the help of our Nutrition Team, Josh works with patients to build a healthier lifestyle. He uses a team approach by building a long-lasting, trusting relationship with patients by straight-forward, open communication that includes taking the necessary time to listen and understand the patient’s specific needs.
When not at the office, Josh enjoys going to the gym, wrestling, seeing a good movie, and spending time with his wife and two daughters. A spontaneous trip to Lake Tahoe or Yosemite Valley is also not out of the question. He is also a world traveler and recently traveled to Cambodia to help an under-served community with some building needs.
